Girls in Technology Initiative

Girls in Technology (GiT) aims to motivate girls studying ICT to increase women participation in emerging Internet technology careers.
 

GiT intiative is 
supported by InternetSociety.org Beyond the Net Funding Programme and implemented by Internet Society Sri Lanka Chapter working with multi-stakeholder partners.  
GiT aims to innovate technology education of girls by introducing a coding and IoT based techno-extracurricular program to improve analytical,  logical and creative thinking among girls.
GiT implements in island wide in 40 schools and 10 universities involving girls, ICT teachers, university students, and professionals.

The project provides IoT learning kits including BBC micro:bits, auduino, Shilpa64 and ALGOHACK STEM educational resources to engage girls in learning to code IoT and knowledge sharing to enter internet technology fields.


Girls in Technology partners with Shilpa Sayura Foundation and Computer Society of Sri Lanka together to involve a community of stakeholders to scale up GiT as a national program.
